The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
For pets that shed fur A robot vacuum/mop set-up is one of the best floor cleaning options. It can mop and vacuum, and can even dry and clean its own dual mop pads.
It also has the greatest suction power of any robot we've tested, at 8,800Pa. It also allows you to organize cleaning schedules and save maps of your house from its app.
1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni is the latest in Ecovacs range of robot vacuum-mop hybrids. This wet-dry model is equipped with the company's upgraded AIVI 3D 2.0 lidar system that offers better mapping and obstacles avoidance. It uses dual laser LiDAR, similar to that used in self-driving vehicles. It can scan up to 32 feet by 360 degrees. This results in more precise mapping as well as faster response time and better cleaning accuracy.
It also has a rotating mopping pad constructed of chenille fabric. This makes it easier to scrub tough areas more effectively unlike traditional mops. In my tests, the X2 Omni took just over a minute to wash its pad and begin work, and I noticed it was more precise than the previous models, which were able to follow a grid-like path around rooms. It was able to navigate the corners and edges of my rooms and also make "Zambani patterns" up and down the middle of the room. It returned to its OMNI Station regularly to empty the dustbin, and clean the mop with hot water prior to beginning another task of cleaning.
Like other Ecovacs products the X2 Omni is a breeze to set up and start using. Place the dock in its place then plug it in and pair it with your home WiFi network. It takes only some minutes. Then, you can launch the app to start your first cleaning project. I was able dive into the settings and personalize my floor plan in less than 15 minutes, incorporating zones that are restricted for mopping and sweeping and reworking my furniture placements, and more. The X2 Omni performed impressively in my tests, achieving outstanding scores in the removal of pet hair and debris cleaning and close to perfect results in edge and crevice cleaning.
2. Deebot T10 Omni
The EcoVACS T10 Omni is an extremely powerful vacuum and mopping machine. It is the most sophisticated of the T-line from the company and comes with the brand new OZMO Turbo2.0 mopping system, which utilizes a dual-spinning brush for superior cleaning than traditional scrubbers. It also comes with YIKO integrated, a first-of-its kind natural language processing technology that allows it to respond to a variety of voice commands. You can make use of the ECOVACS app to map your home, create cleaning schedules, and adjust settings.
The biggest con with the T10 Omni is that it can't switch from mopping to vacuuming in one run. The T10 Omni has two modes that require you to attach mop heads to and from the vacuum depending on your requirements. This is great for the majority of households, but not so for those who lead busy lives.
The Deebot T10 is an excellent robot vacuum that produces impressive results. It removed more than 96% of debris from our hardwood flooring. This is a remarkable performance. It was a success on tiles and carpets, removing 99% of dirt.
This robot vacuum and mops has a large docking system that allows for automatic cleaning with cool mop pads. It also has an auto-emptying 3L bag which is easy to replace, and hot air drying for quick and simple maintenance. It also has a huge water tank that permits more frequent rinses and dry between mopping runs.
The Deebot T10 features a wash tray built into its base, similar to other mopping robots. It uses the wash tray to rinse and dry the mop pads when it is using them. However, it doesn't come with an open tray, meaning that dirty water dust, dirt and other grime slowly build up on the bottom of the tray over time.
3. RoboVac X8 hybrid
This is the first model of mopping from Anker, which is known for its robot vacuums. It has improved intelligence and support for multiple maps, LIDAR scanning and twin-turbine technology that automatically adjusts for the floor you're cleaning. It's a mid-range robot cleaner that's appealing, even if its claim of being a one-stop-shop for floor cleaning does not come true.
The X8 Hybrid looks like a traditional robotic vacuum cleaner from the top with its circular shape with sweeping wheels and a raised area for sensors. However, flip it over, and you'll find an electric floor brush and a single side sweeper brush that pushes dirt from the edges into the main pathway of the robot's 'mouth'. It's a bit smaller than the main brushes on the competing iRobot Roomba S9, which I found to be easier to get under couches and chairs.
Its mapping system lets you create no-mop zones and specific cleaning zones. However it tends to bump into things (including its own charging dock) and isn't the best in climbing over rugs. It was effective in collecting pet hair off bare floors. In our tests, it picked up 89.5 percent of kitty litter.
The X8 Hybrid is controlled via an app, however it also has a set of physical buttons on its base. best robot vacuum for pet hair and carpet let you choose a cleaning mode or turn off the robot. You can also use these to set no-go zones and see real-time maps. It's also a bit chatty and will inform you of what it's going to do next (start cleaning) or alert you if something isn't working.
4. ILIFE A4s
This high-tech model sucks up pet hair, kibble, and other messes with remarkable efficiency and maneuvers flawlessly around furniture legs. It also comes with a remarkable feature set that includes two cleaning modes as well as a self-emptying dock and real-time obstacle avoidance technology. The device that is Wi-Fi-connected can be operated via the Neato App which schedules cleanings and maintenance needs are monitored. The X2 Omni is an excellent option for homes with a large a mix of hard floors and carpet, but it requires some planning ahead to avoid getting stuck by toys, power cords or other obstacles that might be unexpected.

This robot did well during our tests on hardwood floors and kibble. It ate everything, from a single rice grain to several dog food pieces with only one swipe. It had some difficulty transitioning to carpets, however, this vacuum cleaner is ideal for large spaces with both types of flooring and a mix of pets.
It's not cheap but if you're able to handle the cost this is a great option for those who want to be able to leave their homes free to do other tasks or complete chores. The A4s Pro has a convenient auto-cleaning mode that boosts suction to tackle difficult dirt or spills. It also has a battery-powered ElectroWall to set boundaries for the robot.
This budget-friendly robot from a popular brand is the cheapest we've ever tested and offers incredible value for the money. Its navigation system is based on a basic random pathing algorithm and it lacks the ability to map rooms. This renders it less efficient as other models on this list. It's still able to navigate under furniture and into corners. Mopping mode performed well in our tests and picked up hairs that were straying and other debris.
5. Shark iQ
Shark's iQ isn't quite as well-built as the Roomba S9, but it does a better job overall in cleaning up pet hair on all surfaces. It does a better job of cleaning low-pile carpet and floors that are not covered. It also utilizes intelligent-pathing navigational software to improve mobility. It can be positioned to a specific location, and has a suite of advanced automation features including no-go zones and schedules. It can even to pause and resume the cleaning process, so it's perfect for households with pets.
Its self-cleaning brushroll prevents the tangles caused by pet hair and other debris and its self-emptying bagless dock station can hold up to 30 days worth of dirt before it needs to be empty. It comes with of angled side brushes that can reach into corners and a multi-stage filter system to capture dust, dander and allergens.
This vacuum feels solid and well-built, and it works with a smartphone app that enables you to change the settings of your vacuum and schedule cleaning times in advance. The app lets you see the iQ's remaining battery life and receive notifications via push for any issues it encounters during its cleaning cycle. You can use your voice to control it using an Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant device or, if you do not have either of these, you can mark off areas with physical boundary marker strips.
The iQ is great at cleaning bare floors and is able to do a decent job on shaggy and low-pile carpets. However it's not able to provide the same level of autonomy as our top choices. It is also expensive and its monthly costs can add up.
